Abstract
Densities of states (DOS) of intramolecular vibrations in optical phonon modes have been quantitatively studied for three oligoglycines. Polycyclic aromatic chain molecules have been used as references. We found that the more flexible backbones of oligoglycines lead to drastically faster growth of intramolecular vibrations with the increase of frequency than the stiffer backbones of polycyclic aromatics do.
