Abstract
This theoretical inquiry is motivated by the need to better understand wave/seabed interaction along muddy coasts. Since under certain conditions hyperconcentrated fluid-mud flows are known to remain laminar and can be approximately described by the Bingham plastic model, we study the transient motion in a two-layer system with a Bingham fluid lying under water. Attention is focused on the implications of the yield stress which is a distinguishing feature of the Bingham plastic model. © 1992.
