Abstract
An efficient numerical approach based on the vector boundary element method (VBEM) is proposed to investigate the propagation characteristics of the elliptical air hole holey fibers (EHFs). The effect of elliptical air holes and confinement mechanism due to step-index core structured in HF on the birefringence and dispersion properties is presented.
