Abstract
The research put insect, education, computer and internet together to build a insect digital museum – “Bugs Recall”. We hope to uplift the quality of science education and entomology extension to school education and public education. The website includes six main topics as follow: “Bugs Center”, “Topical Bugs” and “Digital Video”: providing text, pictures, video and so on to make users learn by themselves; “Student's Learning Camp”: digitalizing the summer camp activities; “Teacher's Learning Camp”: providing teaching resources and teaching plan system that are conformed to grade 1-9 curriculum; “Bugged Forum”: providing a discussion center for public, so that we can learn the demand of users. All parts of this website are applied to support teaching. Besides, there are not enough data that are collected with members system to analyze, so we turned to gather data with questionnaires from three real activities. First, 552 sufficient questionnaires are collected in summer camp; second, 3,748 sufficient questionnaires are collected in internet voting activities, third, 2,312 sufficient questionnaires are collected in exhibition of achievements of Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan. With Chi-Square test, we discover that there is significant difference of insect species preference on sex; there is no significant difference on area; there is significant difference on age. We can know the most popular insects are those known most. Therefore, there are dependences on teaching plans design and schemes of website in the future.
