Abstract
This study investigated the ecological transformation of internet-value added industry
in Taiwan in a perspective of open plural organizational theories. Five representative
companies ’ top managers were deeply interviewed, and these collected data were
analyzed by content analysis method. The results showed that in the first stage and
second stage of ecological transformation of internet-value added industry in Taiwan,
ecological population theory and institutional theory could sequentially explain the 2
environment ’s dominant power in organizations ’ building , death and operation. In the
third stage, resource independence theory could explain how organizations gained the
necessary resources from other partners in the overall networking industry to survive.
Finally in the fourth and fifth stages, resource based theory could interpret how
organizations develop valuable inner resources to take the competitive advantage in
the competing market.
