Abstract
We discuss the topological phase of the Aharonov-Casher effect and its implications for anyonsin 2+1 dimensions. We clarify the conditions for developing the topological phase and discuss the interference of the Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Caher effects. In 2+1 dimensions, we find that charged particles with nonzero anomalous magnetic dipole moment behave like anyons. © 1991.
