Abstract
This volume is a selected readings of Confucian classics as a part of the 'Readings in Chinese Classics' designated to be one of the core curriculum for universities and colleges. Major Confucian writing from pre-Ch'in era to late Ming times are selected in accord with the following categories:1.Man and Self 2.Man and Society 3.Man and Nature 4.Man and Super-nature 5.Man and History 6.Modes of Thinking. All the materials are classified into three historical periods, namely, (a)the pre-Ch'in, (b)Han, and (c)Sung-Ming era.
