Abstract
Manganese(III) acetate mediated oxidation of aporphines to oxoaporphines is described. The developed methodology was conveniently applied for the synthesis of naturally occurring oxoaporphine alkaloids, oxoglaucine, and atheroline, starting from commercially available boldine. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd.
