Abstract
The main purpose of this research lies in exploring the financial education and knowledge of students in junior high school,and investigating the junior high school teaching material and financial literacy situation in order to understand the main causes which influence further the students’ financial literacy. his research adopts the method of the content and document analysis.Then the researcher uses the method of the questionnaire, and sampling applying to a few of junior high school students of Taipei Municipal Zhongzheng Junior High School and Taipei County Gungfu Junior High School.Thus,through gathering the materials of sampling,which consists of 560 effective samples. The data are statistically analyzed with SPSS 12.0 for Windows by Descriptive Statistics, T-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance.he main findings were as follows:. Our country’s financial education teaching material currently lacks of a whole programming, and results in different valuations of students’ performance.. The average junior high school students’ financial literacy display acceptable standard, but the performance in Income and Careers, Credit and Debt, Risk Management and Insurance, Saving and Investing is lower than expection.3. There are conspicuous differences in the variable of different school location regarding financial literacy, the Taipei City junior high school students’ financial literacy are comparable better than the Taipei County junior high school students.. There are conspicuous differences in the variable of different genders on financial literacy.The junior high schoolgirls’ financial literacy are comparable better than the junior high schoolboys.. There are conspicuous differences in the variable of different grades on financial literacy, the 9th grade students’ financial literacy is better than the 8th grade students’.The 7th grade students’ financial literacy is more than desirable.. There are conspicuous differences in the variable of different family socio-economic characteristics on financial literacy, the high income family provides their children better financial literacy while the kids of the middle income family perform less ideal. Those low income family displays deficient literacy.n conclusion, the researcher makes some suggestions for improvement to education authorities, junior school authorities, counselors and parents. The thesis also discusses the future probable problem and their resolutions.
