Abstract
N-aryl imides can be synthesized with catalytic amount of copper (I) iodide, potassium phosphate, and N,N''-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2-diamine as a ligand at 140 oC under neat condition. By this method, phthalimide can be coupled with various aryl halides in good yields, and we can obtain mono substitution products as coupling with aryl dibromides or aryl tribromides. A general method for mild, rapid, efficient C-N bound coupling reaction was established from this research.
