Abstract
In 2013, Council of Agriculture Executive Yuan has planned a project “Implementation on Counseling Young Farmers,” where Farmers’ Organizations coming from the municipalities, cities, and counties convene the young farmers to form a platform. Now, there are 15 Young Farmers’ Clubs. The original aim and performance evaluation will be influenced by the involvement of the members in an organization. Therefore, it is an important issue to maintain the satisfaction and loyalty of the members, and to attract more young farmers to join. This research sampled from the members of Taoyuan Young Farmers’ Club. Based on the theories of non-profit organizations and collecting data from past literature, the appropriate evaluation criterion and scale to Young Farmers’ Clubs’ performance have been developed and induced. Through the questionnaires and IPA method (Importance-Performance Analysis), we also explore the membership’s emphasis and satisfaction on the evaluation criteria and the relationship between them. The indexes that need improving are “the Social Reputation and Credibility of Taoyuan Young Farmers’ Club,” “the Interaction with Other Young Farmers’ Clubs,” and “a Platform for Learning Exchange on Agriculture,” which belong to the facet “Extra Resources from the External.” Accordingly, government could build a platform on-line, where young farmers could post what they need or communicate what they are confronted with other young farmers.
