Abstract
“Eating” has become one of the major issues of aesthetics of life in Taiwan recently. And eating popular luxurious food in fair price is the trend of consumer society of cities in Taiwan. So this research takes the biggest chain café in Taiwan, 85℃, as an example and argues that the phenomenon of distinction in fair price of cake bases on the combination of chain retailing and cultural economy. According to the core concept, there has three interesting points.
First of all, 85℃ strengthens the strategy of “distinction in fair price” by the affection of media and cultural economy. Second, 85℃ has complete production geography and labor principle which is embedded in space. Last and the most important, the strategy of “distinction in fair price” of 85℃ has resulted in three-level fetishism. Through the concealment of real production process, the elimination of real symbol of cake, and the transformation of real production geography, it seems that cakes of 85℃ have subjectivity.
