Abstract
Mobile Apps have dominated our daily life. With the flourishing mobile Apps, the developers need a more friendly and robust backend service instead of maintaining traditional backend servers by themselves. As a result, mobile backend service emerges as a solution for such requirement. However, a mobile backend provision differs greatly from traditional web-based services due to the special activity pattern of mobile Apps, which requires a closer investigation for better backend design. In this paper, we explore the signature of mobile Apps from the aspect of a real world mobile backend system deployed in China. Results in this paper also reveal what should be taken into consideration to build a mobile backend system. In the end of this paper, we also leave some discussions for possible high performance mobile backend design.
