Abstract
There are many researches on steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) in foreign counties, and there haven’t been any researches on SPSW in Taiwan. According to the past specimens tested by foreign researchers, low yield strength steel is appropriate for SPSW.
This research on low yield strength SPSWs is cooperated with the University at Buffalo (UB). The purposes to improve the hysteresic loops and the serviceability result in the restrained SPSW which can dissipate more input energy, decrease the volume of the plate buckling bounds, and alleviate the out-of-plane displacement of the steel panel.
