Abstract
The objectives of this thesis were to develop the health risk appraisal model in Taiwan (HRA-Taiwan) related to employees’ health examination and the lifestyle risks, the workplace health risk assessment (WHRA) model related to environmental measurements and operating processes, and to apply these two models for risk control and management in the workplace. There are four chapters included in two parts of this thesis. The Part I is the methodology development for health risk assessment, including (1) A cohort-based health risk appraisal model in Taiwan, and (2) Assessing health risk in the photolithography of a semiconductor. The Part II is the application of health risk assessment in the workplace, including (3) Effects of occupational noise exposure on blood pressure, and (4) Occupational risk assessment on allergic contact dermatitis in a resin model making process. Abstracts for these studies are described in the following chapters in detail. The HRA-Taiwan model and the WHRA model developed in this thesis had been applied for solving part issues of occupational health in companies.
