Abstract
In order to downsizing government organization & promoting administrative effectiveness, & providing convenient, specific retrieval organism for people, United States government develop Government Information Locator Service (GILS). This paper discusses the development & metadata of GILS & then provide some suggestions for the future studies in this field.
