Abstract
Based on the field investigation, the
long axis of 1,400 gravels samples show that
more than 80% gravels distributed their
orientation ranging from 120 0 ~140 0 . The rose
diagrame results also indicated that the
paleo-current displayed the flow direction
from southeast to northwest. The massive
deposition of gravels had been consolidated,
transported, orogened, and formed the 99
peaks of study area.
Various investigated methods including
roundness, packing pattern, contact pattern,
and clay mineral was executed in
Juo-Feng-Err-Shan. The results exhibited the
roundness is 0.58, and classified as round
particles. The packing density was 77.18%
and packing proximity was 69.23%. Around
41.19% were presented non-contacting to
each other. The results show that Illite was
dominant, and occupation was 63.42%. The
Kaolinite, Chlorite and Smectite were
15.81%, 13.69% and 7.09% respectively.
The results also show that the roundness
of particle increases, the friction angle will
decrease in Juo-Feng-Err-Shan. The linear
relationship is not very clear in each other.
The packing pattern and friction angle do not
have any relation as well. Furthermore, when
Illite composition increase in the rock,
friction angle will increase. When smectite
mineral increase, friction angle will decrease.
