Abstract
Enhancement of heating rate of the PECS process by inserting a conducting body into boron nitride (BN)powder compact was investigated. In the study, the presence of spark discharge between conducting particles was confirmed by inserting a conducting body into nonconducting particles. The heating rate and the peak temperature on the Cu specimen were found to be increasing on inserting the electrical conducting body, Cu specimen. The increase of heating rate is related to the presence of spark discharge within the conducting particles.
