Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the effect of imprisonment and income on crime control with the automobile theft data in Taiwan. We find that the mean income increases with the number of automobile theft cases. Imprisonment reduces the automobile theft, and this effect becomes stronger with a higher 10-percentile income.
