Abstract
This research aims to health care needs of first visit with schizophrenia and their main family looking for medical treatment. I did this study with the method of quality research. From February to October in 2004, I took the cases after their agreement in one medical center of Taipei. The cases are 9 patients and 9 major caregivers, and I collected the data by deeply interview.
Moreover, this study also discussed the case with schizophrenia after entering the medical system, their health need experience divided to four part, such as the need of information, the need of life, the need of feeling, and the need of hope. Further, the intervention for their need is to get the accurate and useful message in the right time, to revitalize the life step, in supporting the system, to possess chance of the hope coming true.
I discussed the experience of health care needs with the cases divided to first OPD and none, be onset and cured during half-year and none, first OPD and be onset and cured during half-year and none.
In this study, via the attitude with respect and open, to understand the experience of health care needs while cases looking for medical treatment, to know important points in satisfying the cases’ health care needs, and the essence in health care needs. These results show the difficult position and need between the patients with schizophrenia in this study. Besides, we could offer our results on clinic, teaching, research, in order to reach the good communication with the patient.
