Abstract
To fulfill the demand on the miniaturization of ceramic capacitor, the approach of adding ferromagnetic particles (nickel) into ferroelectric (barium titanate) is adopted in the present study. Both bulk and multilayered (ML) specimens are prepared. For the bulk specimens, the dielectric constant reaches a value above 100, 000 as Ni content approaches its percolation threshold. The composites also offer superb ferromagnetic properties. For ML specimens with six 20-μm-dielectric layers, the capacitance can reach 120 nF.
