Abstract
This essay is discussing about Prof Shih-Chang ju's paper "The Reconstruction of the Shang house at Hsiao-T'un, An-yang" published in 1954, and the focus is at the historical data he refer to and his reconstruction of the Shang house No. A4 at Hsiao-t'un. The primary data used is from the excavation report of Hsiao-t'un, Au-yang, and some other reports of the sites found in recent years. For the limitation of the data source, I've found that it seems too difficult to have a reliable reconstruction of this house All I can do is to find the problems worth discussing, but not to solve them.
