Abstract
This study investigates the tensions of the wires, and discussed in the spatial wire-driven platforms(WDP) at certain position how to adjust them within the tension limit. Firstly, the spatial WDP according to the amount of redundance are defined and classified. Secondly, three possible ways of calculating the workspace of WDP which has different amount of redundance are discussed, and the general formula for each wire are developed. Finally, the adjustment of wire tensions are proposed in order to reduce the difference of all wire tensions. The analysis on the wire tensions and their adjustment should be helpful for the practical application and operation of the wire-driven platforms.
