Abstract
Rates of infections with multiple drug-resistant organisms (MDROs) continue to rise. Patients with MDROs infections suffer increased morbidity and mortality, longer lengths of stay and greater healthcare costs. Thus, a hospital’s infection control team is responsible for identifying and tracking the infections with multiple drug-resistant organisms and stopping its spread. Current surveillance of drug-resistant infections in hospital relies on the infection control expert’s experience and sensitivity. Human performance varies by experience and is error prone. e have developed a web-based hospital-wide MDRO surveillance system. This system can facilitate entire medical staff for their operations in the hospital, and improve patient safety as well as the quality of medical cares.
