Abstract
This thesis focuses on the inter-organizational relationships of Taiwan’s new developing TFT-LCD industry, confirms the feature of geographical proximity with the organizational proximity on the industrial landscape. First, to response to the discourse of region’s industrial developmental patterns, the TFT-LCD industry may be defined as the cooperating types and ways of the relations between trans- or inter- sectors. Then proceeds with discovering the knowledge and technology flows within the TFT-LCD industry and even between the trans-sectors. This analysis demonstrates the interaction between new and old relationally industrial sectors which did promote the success of the new developing TFT-LCD industry. In the end, this case study may manifest the existence of embedded regional industries as specific assets that sticks advantaged industries in local contexts against the deluge of globalization.
