Abstract
In order to increase medical care quality of cancer care institutions, the National Health Bureau carries out the “Accreditation Program on Cancer Care”. Also, with the method of three stages and five levels of public health prevention, Department of Health handles the related cancer advocacy, quality promotion of diagnosis and treatment, and establishes a data base of cancer registration and screening. The emphasis of international medical quality evaluation has extended from evaluation of overall medical quality of medical institutions to accreditation program on cancer care of specific diseases. Since cancer is one of the most important issues of public health all over the world, besides formulating cancer prevention strategies and developing cancer quality measurement index, countries all over the world also establish cancer care quality appraisal methods as the detection mechanism of cancer overall care. This research intends to understand the overview, the method and the procedure of accreditation system on cancer care of every country, in order to provide reference for that of our country at present. Besides, it also intends to investigate the influence of quality certification system of cancer diagnosis and treatment on our country’s cancer medical care, and put forward suggestions for accreditation program on cancer care which is suitable for our country basing on this factor.
Firstly, verify with literatures, and carry out further investigation with the combination of expert symposiums. Also, select one cancer certification hospital from the north and the middle area for interview, and understand their key factors of passing the certification and related influence of the certification system. Lastly, hold the expert and focus group symposiums of the third stage, and investigate the influence of accreditation program on cancer care t more deeply. And then acquire and compile related research results and suggestions with the method of content analysis of qualitative research.
Certification hospitals mostly affirm the positive influence of accreditation program on cancer care on hospital culture, patient care model, formation of labor power, medical staff operation safety, profession duty and training, etc. However, the accreditation system also increases the administrative work, reduces the time for patient care and increases the workload of related staff. Besides, cooperation and communication of every profession, absolute support of top management staff of the hospital and fund subsidies from the government are the keys to pass and push forward the accreditation system.
