Abstract
Antiangiogenesis is a major antitumor mechanism of sorafenib, the first molecular targeted agent that can prolong overall survival and time to progression in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Most other agents under development for the treatment of HCC are also antiangiogenic agents. This chapter summarizes the updated clinical trial results of antiangiogenic therapy for patients with advanced-stage and intermediate-stage HCC. Future perspectives and challenges of clinical trials of antiangiogenic therapy in HCC are discussed.
