Abstract
Abstract In this work, a detailed analysis on the electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra within a broad temperature range (80‐400 K) is performed for studying the size effects of La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 nanoparticles synthesized by a sol‐gel route. Our ESR results reveal that La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 nanoparticles with grain sizes of 28 and 48 nm have two magnetic states below the Curie temperatures T c , which is attributed to the different surface states. One is with the alligned surace spins, the other is with the disordered surface spins. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
