Abstract
Time is one of the most important factors in the success of a project. Completion project on schedule is one of the goals of project management. In Vietnam nowadays, poor schedule risks assessment is one of reasons causing construction projects to be behind schedule. Construction scheduling itself involves many uncertainties, internal as well as external ones. The research desires to analyze a specific project, the Phu My Bridge locating in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam, with the aim of showing the influence of uncertainties in construction scheduling, in the context of Vietnam. The uncertainties were analyzed by professional analytical software, Pertmaster of Primavera Corporation. This software uses the Monte Carlo simulation in generating random variables. The analyzed project is an EPC infrastructure project, which is accomplished last year. With various scenarios, the research showed the differences between viewpoints of analysis, the correspondence between analytical results with the actual schedule. Base on criticality index and schedule sensitivity index, the research also indicated the most significant activities which likely influence on that project schedule. The research also ranked the schedule risk driver in this project, which is referenced in other similar projects in Ho Chi Minh City.
