Abstract
This study applied spectral and cross-spectral analysis applying the maximum entropy method to data from eight climatic stations in Taiwan with long-term climatological data from 1911-2000. It is found that the ENSO (EI Nino/Southern Oscillation) index and QBO (Quasi-Biennial Oscillation) index affect both air temperature and rainfall, and solar activity affect air temperature. However, various climatic periodicities exist amongst the different locations in Taiwan.
