Abstract
Phenanthrene alkaloids was semisynthesized fromN-alkyllaurolitsines such as boldine directly from solvolysis with 1M ammonium acetate under reflux overnight. This one step reaction is easily workup and the yield is high (> 80%). © 1995 Elsevier Science Ltd.
