Abstract
PMMA/clay composites were prepared with poly(methyl methacrylate) and PEO-modified clay by melt blending, solvent casting and solvent/non-solvent precipitating. The PMMA molecular weight of these composites were observed by GPC. The thermal degradation and the glass transition temperature were studied by TGA and DSC. The clay structure of these composites was characterized by XRD. Then the mechanical properties, tensile strength and impact resistance, were studied by some instrument.
Another subject is PS/clay composite what was prepared with styrene monomer and modified-clay by emulsion polymerization. The morphology of PS/clay composite was observed by SEM. The clay structure of PS/clay composite was characterized by XRD. And the thermal analysis was studied by TGA.
Moreover, the physical properties and the thermal stability of these different polymer/clay composites were investigated in this paper.
