Abstract
With the development of various electronic devices, the demand for battery operating time and charging time has been increasing. Traditional charging methods can no longer meet the modern demands for battery charging speeds. Therefore, fast-charging technologies are applied during the battery charging process to reduce charging time and ensure convenience. Improving energy conversion efficiency is also an important aspect of this process. This paper proposes a hybrid converter that combines a 3-level converter with a switchedcapacitor converter topology. Different modes are switched during various stages of battery charging. The 3 -level converter is mainly used to regulate output voltage during the general charging process, while the switched-capacitor converter mode is applied when fast charging is needed, providing additional current for fast charging. The load current ranges from 1A to 8A, and simulation results show a maximum conversion efficiency of up to 95.2 %. The calculated charging time demonstrates a reduction of 25.3 %.
