Abstract
Motion blur is a typical problem of the Liquid Crystal Display. It is mainly resulted from the slow response of liquid crystal and the hold-type driving property of LCD. The response time problem has to be solved by the advancement of material technology and the overdriving technology. In this article, we focus on the hold-type driving property, introduce some motion blur reduction methods, including Black Frame Insertion, Smooth Frame Insertion, Frame Rate Up-conversion, and Motion Compensated Inverse Filtering. Our experimental results show that these methods exactly reduce the motion blur problem of LCD.
