Abstract
Synthesis of the high-Tc superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O compound with Tc above 80 K by rapid calcination and post-annealing have been demonstrated. The duration of only 10 s at 1200°C is enough to obtain homogeneous semiconducting Bi2Sr2CuO6 precursor. The subsequent annealing at 860°C for 16 h transforms it into superconducting Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 phase. The magnetization, hysteresis loop and critical current density for the samples are discussed. © 1989.
