Abstract
Current cochlear implants surgically implanted electrodes in cochlea. However, there are significant risks of surgery due to the surgically damage in cochlea. If we can stimulate the cochlear nerve outside cochlear, the significantly risk of surgery can be reduced.
In this article, a lot of variety of Cr-Au film electrodes produced by MEMS are designed for a series of experiments on Guinea pigs. Through the surgery the outer and middle ear of Guinea pigs are removed and then set the electrodes on the outer of cochlear attempting to stimulate the cochlear nerve from the bone of cochlear or from the surface of Oval window with ABR to detect the response of cochlear nerve.
