Abstract
Galen Cranz's work entitled "The Politics of park Design: A History of Urban Parks in America" provides a new approach to the traditional discourse of profession which is dominated by utopianism and technical pragmatism Concerning the progress of this critique, the article describes the dilemma encountered by the traditional discourse of profession darning the past two decades firstly Secondly, deciphering and analyzing Cranz's work and indicating that the major range of focus in her book is the ideology of urban park movement in America. Finally, by way of making a dialogue with Cranz's theoretical viewpoint on "ideology" the article examines both the epistemological presumption and methodological framework and affirms her theoretical transcendence in this book Meanwhile, when we engage in indigeneous empirical survey and practice directively on the theoretical basis of Cranz's work it also proposes the possible gaps between the central and the peripheral countries
