Abstract
This work presents a highly sensitive tunneling piezoresistive tactile sensing array for continuous blood pulse wave monitoring. The polymer-based sensing device was patterned with microdome structures by using membrane filter substrates. Based on the tonometric method, blood pressure can be estimated from the measured pulse pressure signals. Characterization of the proposed sensing elements was conducted. The sensing array is arranged in 8 × 1 linear configuration with tiny gaps between sensing elements, which substantially enhances the acquisition of signals.
