Abstract
This article presents the My Eyes (MyE) system, a novel approach to address challenges encountered in conventional binocular stereo vision (BSV) systems, particularly pertaining to parameter optimization and region of interest (ROI) fixation, which often lead to suboptimal localization accuracy in certain applications. The MyE system dynamically adjusts the orientation of the binocular camera, similar to human beings’ eyes, to optimize its positioning for enhanced accuracy, achieved through modifications to parameters, positioning formulas, and error analysis of traditional BSV systems. It addresses mechanism errors and compensates for system structural parameters (SSPs) by defining error parameters and assembly error offsets and providing an error analysis model to elucidate their impact on positioning errors. Additionally, by compensating for SSPs and refining positioning formulas, the proposed system achieves precise localization from varying angles. Extensive experimental validation shows the efficiency of the MyE system, with comparison experiments and accuracy evaluations demonstrating its effectiveness in improving BSV system performance, offering valuable insights for its application in diverse fields such as applied optics research and practical applications.
