Abstract
A low-power transmitter designed for the IEEE 802.15.4 is presented in this thesis. This transmitter operates at 2.4 GHz band and supports data rate from 2 Mbps to 20 Mbps. The signals transmitted by this transmitter can be modulated with the OQPSK and the OQPSK with half-sine shaping. This TX employs a RF phase modulator which incorporates a FIR filter for waveform shaping. The transmitter architecture is based on Phase-MUX architecture. Fabricated in a 0.18-um CMOS process, the TX, including a PLL, draws 11.4 mA from a 1.6 V supply and delivers an output power of -3.6 dBm. It achieves an EVM of 8% when operating at 2Mbps.
