Abstract
This study investigates the impact of
land use/cover change (LUCC) on
environmental sensitive areas - wetland in
coastal areas. Environmental sensitive areas
were identified by Chang and Tsai et al.
(1995). Aerio photos were used to collect and
update environmental sensitive areas and
land use data in coastal area. Land cover
change was delineated by using the
National land use survey data and data
interpreted from aero photos which was
taken in 2000. Basic statistics and Markov
Chain model were employed to evaluate the
change of wetland. Results show that only 3
out of 12 reveal slightly decrease both on
areas and change tendencies. It indicates that
the conservation of environmental sensitive
areas works quite successfully during this
time period.
