Abstract
According to the literature reviews, it is known that ppy coordineted iridium complexes would show a red shift as a result from electron-withdrawing substituents on pyridine or electron-releasing substituents on benzene; on the other hand, a blue shift as a result from electron-releasing substituents on pyridine or electron-withdrawing substituents on benzene.
We have studied the iridium complexs containing cyanopyridine in this thesis. After the successful synthesis of Ir(H)2(pic), we prepared other iridium complexes Ir(OMe)2(pic) and Ir(Me)2(pic) to see to what extent the concept would be a application. Examination of the three complexes was executed, and their appliction to OLED was attempted.
