Abstract
In this thesis, the quarter-wavelength resonator structures are used to realize the first mode of ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filters. Since these filters are constructed by quarter-wavelength resonators, spurious responses occur at odd-multiples of fundamental frequency. To suppress the spurious responses, the stepped impedance resonators are employed in the filter design.
Besides, the optimal distributed structures are used to realize the UWB bandpass filters. Though these structures can realize the wideband bandpass filters, they have the drawback of large size. In this study, several methods based on meander-line structures are proposed to reduce the circuit size. Moreover, the number of vias is reduced from six to three.
