Abstract
Because of global warming, each country is devoting to promote green vehicles. Bicycle has advantages of convenient, zero pollution, and door to door. It has great potential to become the main vehicle for commuting. To increase the bicycle utility rate, providing a fine cycling environment is necessary. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the level of service cycling on pedestrian space.
In this research, a comprehensive index of cycling space, consists of 14 individual indexes. The weights of these 14 individual indexes are decided by compromised weight method. By quantifying these indexes and using fuzzy theory to find threshold of each level of service. Finally, the comprehensive index is completed.
Three sidewalks are chosen to evaluate the level of service. Including sidewalk on Xinsheng S. road east, Heping E. road south, and Da''an park. Use the comprehensive index which is constructed in this research to evaluate these sidewalks. The result is that:the level of service of Xinsheng S. road east is level C, the level of service of Heping E. road south is D, and the level of service of Da''an park is level B. After evaluating the level of service of three examples, considering indexes of three sidewalks and provide strategies to improve.
