Abstract
Background: This study established a comprehensive Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA) framework for Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) in Taiwan. Since 2019, MRTs from various teaching hospitals have collaborated to define EPAs, beginning with six activities. Given the complexity of clinical responsibilities in radiology, developing consensus-driven EPAs is crucial for effective curriculum design and competency assessment. Methods: In 2023, the Taiwan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (TAMRT) convened consensus-building meetings with experts from three radiology subspecialties. Through focus group discussions and a modified Delphi method, participants reviewed and refined proposed EPAs and task specifications. Consensus was assessed using a 5-point Likert scale, and interquartile ranges were calculated to ensure alignment across expert ratings. Results: Fourteen EPAs and 158 detailed task specifications were validated, demonstrating high agreement levels (mean scores > 4.0; interquartile ranges < 0.6). These findings confirm the feasibility of defining a clear professional competency progression that aligns with evolving radiology practice in Taiwan. Conclusions: The consensus-building process significantly advanced competency-based medical education for MRTs. By prioritizing expert feedback, it yielded structured EPAs that serve as benchmarks for professional training. This collaborative approach to curriculum development provides a robust foundation for future educational applications, ensuring high-quality, competency-focused MRT training.
