Abstract
The research of this thesis focused on folklore in San-Yan especially on holidays, custom of married, and alchemy. I divided my thesis into five parts. First, chapter one is the introduction including all Feng Meng-Long’s life, the book of San-Yan, the reason, scope, and method of my research, and the predecessor in San-Yan. hapter two of the thesis is about the discussions of holiday in San-Yan. In chapter three, I analyzed the particulars of wedding customs in San-Yan. In chapter four, I tried to discuss the authors how to use the circumstances of alchemy. Final, in chapter five, I drew the conclusions from these discussions, and proposed the possible directions in the future research.his thesis aims to explore the folklore in San-Yan, especially on themes of festival, marriage custom and alchemy. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter One introduces the life of Feng Meng-long, the book San-Yan, thesis statement, scope of research and methodology. Chapter Two is dedicated to the observation of festivals in San-Yan. In Chapter Three, peculiarities of wedding or marriage customs in San-Yan are analyzed. Chapter Four focuses on how and in what circumstances is alchemy used. Chapter Five concludes this study, closing with some perspectives for future research.
