Abstract
The authors find errors in the published version of the explanations following the eqs. 6–8 (page 4): i: deaths attributed to disasters of a data year. LL: value of loss of life in the study area, which is the accumulated predicted values of lives since the data begin year. V: data year. ni: the number of alert warnings of debris flow issued in the data year when the actual rainfall exceeded the threshold value for debris flow warnings (same to Ni in Eq. (4)). Nj: probability of debris flow occurrence after issuance of a warning (from Eq. (4)). P: value of a life per year. The correct version should be: i: data year. LL: value of loss of life in the study area, which is the accumulated predicted values of lives since the data begin year. V: value of a life per year. ni: deaths attributed to disasters of a data year. Nj: the number of alert warnings of debris flow issued in the data year when the actual rainfall exceeded the threshold value for debris flow warnings (same to Ni in Eq. (4)). P: probability of debris flow occurrence after issuance of a warning (from Eq. (4)). The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. ? 2021
