Abstract
The purpose of this study is transmission characteristics of Bragg fiber,including the property of reflection and modal analysis ,as well as the influence of structure parameters.We also show the difference from general waveguide.
The traveling field form of transfer matrix method(TMM)is our tool to analysis Bragg fiber,it can get the complex propagation constant where imaginary part express the leaky loss.The result clearly shows the differential loss and reflectional spectra of photonic bandgap(PBG)between TE and TM mode.Owing to the PBG guidance mechanism
causes the low modal loss in the bandgap region,however conventional fiber guide light depend on total internal reflection(TIR),the cut-off condition of conventional fiber is different from filter effect of Bragg fiber in order to get single transmission mode.
