Abstract
Abstract
Cell surface are decorated with a myriad of glycoconjugates that mediate important cell-cell interactions. The invations of bacteria or virus onto human cells take place via a similar mechanism. Because of their biological significance, it is considered a critical challenge to efficiently synthesize complex carbohydrates, to provide enough quantity for biological investigation, such as vaccine development, carbohydrate microarray and drug discovery. This thesis research aims to synthesize the tumor-associated antigen that is highly expresses on the surface of breast cancer cells. In order to establish an expedition preparation, a new one-pot strategy was designed to form Globo H hexasaccaride or the analogue without a fucosyl group.
