Abstract
Because the supplies of gas and petroleum are decreasing, the need for the solar energy is increasing. In the past decades, many researches focused on the silicon based solar cell, nowadays, more and more people try to invest more money and researches on organic solar cells due to its high productivity and easily fabricated properties. While in the researches of organic solar cells, surface plasmon resonance can be applied on the use of the organic solar cell because of its special interaction between light and matters, and the light energy can be converted to the solar energy by SPR.n this work, the gold nano-particles are embedded between ITO glass and PEDOT organic materials, which can be the SPR source of this work. By using DDSCAT software provided by Princeton, we can simulate the gold nano-particles with respect to its shape, sizes, and the relative refractive index in organic materials. The organic materials used in this work are PEDOT, MEHPPV, PCBM, PC70BM, and P3HT, which provides us different organic materials. And by using spectrum response instrument, the IPCE efficiency of organic materials with different particle sizes can be calculated. In the last part, the DDSCAT simulation results of the absorption of gold nano-particles can be used to compare with the IPCE efficiency of organic materials.
